The Path less Trodden

Well everybody tells to take a path less trodden. Maybe because the flowers on that path have not been broken and smashed under walking feet. But does walking down an untraversed path accoutre one with unchallenged powers to pluck flowers and deny the pleasure of beauty to followers or it loads one with the responsibility of putting a board on the path saying:

" DO NOT PLUCK FLOWERS"

The same thoughts, I have found apt in my Biosafety and Bioethics classes. Does power of a new technology give one the freewill to practise whatever he likes or it leaves one with the responsibility to set laws for safe usage of such technologies.
